Event Overview: The 371st Infantry Regiment was formed from African American draftees—many from right here in South Carolina. They trained hard. They fought bravely. They returned home with international medals and honors… and then, they were forgotten.
It’s time to remember.
Join the Orangeburg County Historical Society for a moving evening as we explore the history of the 371st—through rare images, original flags, and stories of sacrifice, courage, and legacy.
After the presentation there will be a Q&A section.
Preview the Exhibit: The Forgotten Soldier: The Story of the 371st Infantry Regiment
